For most people the title of the painting creates an atmosphere of bliss, joy and happiness. However, if you look closely, existential horror awaits you.

It is sad that the sacrifice has become a commonplace – salesmen-executioners, invisible buyers, and carp victims themselves, wearily looking with a human gaze, seem not to offer any objection.

The composition of a cutting board, knives and gloved hands, the unfinished look of some objects and a completely vibrant colour scheme only serve to reinforce the butchery. Thousands of years of religiosity have changed nothing – we still make sacrifices and one could say that as well as those you see, often we sacrifice our own in pursuit of other ends.
